Prevention is better than cure.
Our preventative dental care programme aims at helping to stop problems before they arise and provide advice to you on ways of improving oral hygiene as well as informative oral health education.
Dr Rob Cookson (Principal) Dr E Nichols (Helen) and Dr N Downes (Nick) lead the team of hygienists and Dental Nurses to ensure you are fully informed of the right amount of care to maintain your oral health. You will be given a guide on the number of examinations and hygienist appointments to meet your needs and lifestyle. We are a mercury free practice which means our fillings do not contain mercury and they are made to match your natural teeth
At an examination appointment the dentist will exam your teeth, gums and soft tissue. There may be X-rays taken at this appointment. Upon completion of the examination you will receive a Treatment Plan which will include an estimated cost.
Sometimes the dentist may refer you to one of our hygienists. As licensed healthcare professionals dental hygienists focus on preventing and treating oral diseases both to protect your teeth and your gums. You will be given advice on day to day techniques to help manage and reduce/prevent deterioration. The hygienists may recommend an airpolish (to help remove heavy stains) and can give advice on teeth whitening and provide treatment with periochips. An hygienist appointment is approximately 30 minutes long.
